WHAT IS A KILOWATT HOUR (kWh)?
A kilowatt-hour is a measure of energy. We use pence per kilowatt-hour as a standard metric to calculate how much your charge session will cost. Your typical domestic electric utility bill at home is also calculated in this way.
It equals the amount of energy that you would use if you ran a 1 kilowatt appliance for an hour. So, if you switched on a 0.1 kilowatt light bulb, it would take 10 hours to gain 1 kWh of energy, or a 2 kilowatt appliance would use 1 kilowatt-hour in just half an hour.
