However, many manufacturers also allow you to plug in via a traditional domestic three pin socket like the ones at home. So, whilst the car end of the cable will be Type 2, the wall socket end is less secure in outdoor conditions. If the domestic plug and socket are not properly weather-proofed, this could lead to water ingress and the likely tripping of fuses.
