WHAT DO AC AND DC MEAN?

When we talk about electricity, AC simply means ‘alternating current’. In the context of EVs, you should know that power from the National Grid is always AC; however, all EV batteries operate using DC, which stands for ‘direct current’.

Our high power DC chargers convert the alternating current delivered from the National Grid into direct current suitable for charging an EV. If your vehicle is charging on an AC charger, it converts the AC to DC under the bonnet, and this much slower. We have 22kW AC chargers to accommodate vehicles that only receive AC.
