HOW FAST WILL AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGE?

The speed at which your vehicle will charge depends on the charger's ability to deliver a certain amount of power in kilowatts and the capability of your model of electric vehicle (EV) to receive this level of power.

Not all EVs are created equal, and each make and model will have a different charging speed! So, whilst GRIDSERVE high power chargers can deliver up to 350kW, the rate you can charge will always be controlled by the vehicle’s battery. Other outside factors must be taken into consideration, such as the level of charge left in the battery when you plug in and the outside temperature.

Car manufacturers continue to improve battery size and potential with every new iteration of the vehicle, so very soon, all cars will be charging at our maximum capability. On average, we find that it takes about 40 – 50 minutes to charge from nearly empty to 80% on the forecourt.
