DO THE SOLAR PANELS GENERATE THE ELECTRICITY ONSITE?

The design of the Braintree Electric Forecourt® beautifully incorporates solar panels into the canopy that sits over the chargers and on the roof of the retail centre. These produce enough zero-carbon energy to drive around 800,000 miles every year in an electric vehicle.

The lion’s share of the power is generated by Clayhill solar farm, 44 miles away. Electricity is drawn from the National Grid at the Electric Forecourt®, and precisely the same amount is fed into the Grid from our solar farm. The result is net zero power.
